patriots super bowl champs boston parade celebration photoMayor Marty Walsh has ordered the city to “fire up the duck boats” for the New England Patriots victory parade following the team’s come-from-behind 34-28 overtime win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Boston Parade Start Time
The traditional rolling rally featuring Boston's iconic duck boats will start at 11:00am near the Prudential Center.

Boston Parade Route
The parade will wind down Boylston Street past Copley Square, the Public Garden and Boston Common, before turning left on Tremont Street and finishing up at City Hall Plaza.

Public Transportation Options
City officials are urging those attending the parade to use public transportation and keep backpacks at home. Unless you plan to arrive really early to beat the crowds, it's probably best to avoid the Green Line along Boylston itself and take the Red Line to Downtown Crossing and Park Street stops. Check the MBTA Twitter feed for service advisories.

Good Spots to View the Rolling Duckboats
From the sidewalk along Boylston, along the Garden and the Common, or at City Hall Plaza.

Of course - you can also watch the festivities from your own couch. Live coverage will be available from local TV stations.

Weather
The parade will likely be a wet one. A coating of up to 2 inches of snow is predicated for Boston Tuesday morning, before the precipitation switches over to sleet and rain. Highs are expected to be around 30.

Mayor Walsh took to Twitter late Sunday night to offer his congratulations “to the greatest team, the greatest coach and the greatest quarterback of all time.”

The Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins have all celebrated championships in recent years by climbing aboard duck boats, amphibious vehicles that are normally used to show tourists around town.

This is the Patriots fifth Super Bowl win.
