Save A Dog will hold its7th Annual Dog Walk “Paws in the Park” on Sunday, June 10th, 2007 from 10am- 3pm at its new location this year, at John H. Pierce Park , 17 Weston Road Lincoln, MA. All proceeds go directly to the rescue and placement of wonderful, deserving dogs in their forever homes. The event will start off with a group walk at 11:00 a.m.
Some of the activities that will be running through the day include Blue Dog Group Frisbee Team, an agility ring, demonstrations, and a parade of adoptable dogs, doggie games and contests; face painting for the kids, a silent auction, raffles, other rescue groups from the area, vendors and more.
Save a Dog is an all breed, volunteer based non-profit (501c3) dog rescue organization founded by husband and wife team David Bernier and Shirley Moore (Recipient of American Red Cross Animal Rescue Hero Award 2005 and featured as CBS Channel 4 Hometown Hero in April 2005), and staffed exclusively by a group of dedicated volunteers. Save a Dog’s mission is to help friendly, adoptable dogs find forever homes in the New England area.
Since its inception in 1999, Save a Dog has rescued over 2500 dogs and has placed them in wonderful, loving homes in the New England area. All dogs are temperament tested and fostered by volunteers until adopted. The dogs available for adoption are posted on the website, www.saveadog.org.
This year’s walk will again be a major fundraising event. This benefit helps to raise enough funds to help defer the medical, spaying/neutering and other costs of Save a Dog’s incoming population. It will attract many people from the greater Boston and the Metro west area who have adopted from Save A Dog as well as people currently looking for a new dog companion and local dog owners enjoying a fun day out with their dogs.
