Joseph is an irresistible and humorous retelling of the Biblical story of Joseph and his eleven jealous brothers. The brothers, weary of Joseph’s airs, dreams of greatness, and the lavish favoritism shown to him by their father, sell Joseph to slave traders.
Through ups and downs, and twists of fate Joseph ends up serving in Pharaoh’s court. His wisdom and advice to Pharaoh help Egypt prosper even during times of great famine. Joseph meets his brothers again, but this time they are at his mercy. How does Joseph respond after the great wrong they had done to him?
Through the use of light-hearted humor Joseph touches on the universal themes of resilience and forgiveness. The songs are catchy and written in all sorts of musical styles ranging from calypso, to disco, to country western, to French tavern music, and even a touch of Elvis!
