Registration is underway for the 2016 Ride for Food, a charity bike ride which supports 18 food pantries, kitchens, community farms and food rescue organizations in the Greater Boston and Worcester areas.

This year's 5th  anniversary ride includes a 10-mile course suited to recreational riders, a 25-mile course for intermediate riders, and a 50-mile ride for experienced riders. All rides start and end at the Noble & Greenough School in Dedham, MA and wind through surrounding local towns including Dover, Holliston, Medfield, Millis, Medway, Sherborn, Needham and Westwood.

The Ride for Food is organized by Three Squares New England (TSNE) which was founded in 2012 by a group of friends in Dedham to increase capacity of hunger relief organizations by assisting with fundraising and awareness. Since its inception, the Ride for Food has raised more than $650,000 for its hunger relief.

“Our ongoing goal for the Ride for Food is to increase awareness and support for much needed hunger relief while having a fun and challenging bike ride for area residents,” says Three Squares New England Executive Director Kati Sigel.

To ride, learn more or volunteer to help out, visit the Ride for Food website at www.theRideforFood.org. If you are interested in sponsoring this year's event, call Kati Sigel at 617-365- 7761.

About the Ride for Food
Recognizing that community-based non-profits have limited resources to independently undertake large fundraisers, Three Squares New England organized its first Ride for Food in 2012. Since then the Ride for Food has grown from 65 riders raising $35,000 in 2012 for one partner to over 300 riders raising more than $300,000 for 14 hunger relief organizations in 2015 and has become one of the more successful and fun riding events in the Greater Boston area.

About Hunger Relief Partners
The mission of Three Squares New England’s partners is to increase the availability of and knowledge around nutritional food to those in the community who are food insecure and to work collaboratively to broaden and strengthen the local food system. In the past five years, the network of Three Squares partners has grown from one to 18, and grown from serving one town to serving communities throughout Eastern Massachusetts.
