Fun science demonstrations on stage using student volunteers from the audience, followed by hands-on activity tables where all kids can do several different science experiments.

MIT’s Materials Science and Engineering Department, which has previously given demonstrations for school groups, will conduct fun demonstrations on stage, with the assistance of student volunteers from the audience.

There will also be several activity booths where students can do different hands-on experiments after the main show.

All of our Science on Saturday events are free and open to all elementary, middle, and high school students, as well as their parents and teachers.

Seating is limited, so we recommend that you arrive before 10:00 a.m.

Show starts at 10:00 a.m. in MIT's Kresge Auditorium at 48 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge. Attendees can park in either the West Garage (very close to the event) or Albany Garage (a ~10-minute walk from the event) provided they can pay the $5 flat fee with a credit card at either parking garage. Alternatively, attendees can take MBTA buses to the MIT Massachusetts Avenue stop (very close to the event) or the subway to either the Central or Kendall Square T stops (a ~15-20-minute walk from the event).
