The Appalachian Mountain Club's Cardigan Lodge is a quiet roadside location amid a beautiful AMC-owned 1,200-acre reservation in Mount Cardigan State Forest. It’s an ideal place for young families to connect with the outdoors & each other. Rates incl. lodging, meals, camping gear, & guided activities.

Intro to Family Camping at Cardigan Lodge
July 6-8
Ever wanted to try camping w/the whole family, but didn’t know where to start? Join us for this intro to family camping. 1st night at Cardigan Lodge, then gather camping supplies & venture (not too far!) into the woods to set up backcountry tent site. We’ll then head out for a hike, cook meals on camp stoves, & share camp stories before retiring to nylon homes for the night. Leave No Trace techniques & plenty of helpful tips for planning future adventures. For families w/children 6-10.
From $192/adult members, $234/adult non-members, $67/youth members, $78/youth non-members, $40/child members, $46/child non-members.

Wee Wanderers, Family Explorations at Cardigan Lodge
June 27-29; July 13-15; July 25-27; August 10-12; August 20-22
Now, AMC offers the perfect 3-day program for you & your little ones to explore the outdoors! Designed for families w/kids ages 3-5, this program will tap into & encourage the natural curiosity of young children. Expert guides lead fun, safe activities, while balancing needs for activity & rest. Pond discovery, nature trail exploration, & a visit to nearby Squam Lakes Science Center helps introduce kids to animals & other inhabitants of NH’s Lakes region. Outdoor sessions involve walking less than a mile on uneven terrain for pond discovery & nature trail exploration. Indoor sessions include stories & craft time.
Rates start at $249/adult members, $299/adult non-members, $136/youth members, $158/youth non-members, $82/child members, $94/child non-members.
