Springstep dance center introduces this new series of summer family workshops. Each 1.5 hour Saturday morning event includes a short performance, followed by a participatory workshop for all ages. Please wear comfortable clothing. Refreshments will be provided.

Saturday, July 12 | 10:30am - Noon
Indian Bhangra Dancing with Reshma Singh
Originally a folk dance of good harvest, Bhangra is now enjoyed throughout the world by people of all ages.
Saturday, July 19 | 10:30am - Noon
Japanese Taiko Drumming with Odaiko New England
Watch local troupe Odaiko give an exuberant and energetic performance, then jump in and experience first-hand the power of taiko drumming.

Chinese Ribbon Dancing with Chiao Bin Huang
Masterful performer Chiao Bin Huang will explain her elegant costumes, and will bring to life the props, movements, and imagery of the dances with ribbons and fans.
Saturday, August 2 | 10:30am - Noon
Brazilian Capoeira with ABADA-Capoeira Boston
Instrutoria Sereia and members of ABADA-Capoeira will teach movement games, call and response songs, clap some rhythms, and let you try your hand at some of the instruments.
Saturday, August 9 | 10:30am - Noon
American Folk Songs with Aubrey Atwater and Elwood Donnelly
Come sing and dance with Aubrey and Elwood as they introduce you to the exciting world of clogging, and to instruments like the Appalachian mountain dulcimer, the old-time banjo, and the Irish tin whistle.
