About the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center
The Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center has been providing services to the Chinatown community for over three decades. “Sunshine Saturdays” is BCNC’s newest endeavor to enrich and improve the quality of life in Chinatown and beyond. These courses are focused on enhancing artistic and cultural experiences for all members and friends of our community.
Opening one extra day every week to offer these opportunities for community education is an extension of BCNC’s comprehensive, year-round programming for individuals and families, which takes place at the agency’s new, five-story 2,000 square foot community center building on Oak Street.
Opened last year through a successful capital campaign that raised over $2.8 million, the center’s new home is also the first “green” building to be built in the Chinatown neighborhood.
The Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center, formerly The Quincy School Community Council, was founded in 1969 by neighborhood residents. Its mission is to enrich and improve the quality of life for the Boston’s Asian American community and for residents of Boston’s Chinatown, South End and South Cove communities.
BCNC provides bilingual education, child care, and programs for youth, cultural, social and recreational purpose. BCNC is acknowledged as the largest Asian social service provider within New England.
