Puppet Showplace Theater presents 'The Hard Times of Woody Guthrie' by The Dolly Wagglers!

Join us for our 40th Anniversary Season: American Journeys!

Saturday and Sunday, November 1 and 2 at 1:00pm and 3:00pm

An American folk hero teaches a young friend about hard times and how to get out of them in this toe-tapping adventure tale.

The Dolly Wagglers use their signature brand of wit, wisdom, and whimsy to bring Woody Guthrie’s songs (and papier mache likeness!) to life in a series of entertaining vignettes.

Each scene features brilliantly inventive cardboard creations, dozens of memorable puppet characters, and hand-cranked scrolling picture scenery.

The show also includes plenty of nonsense singing, flying suitcases, and a lesson or two in Dust Bowl lingo.

About the artist: The Dolly Wagglers, Adam Cook and Lindsay McCaw, have been making shows and other types of spectacle since 2004.

They have appeared all over this land in fairs and festivals, in subways and on street corners.'The Hard Times of Woody Guthrie' was originally created to commemorate Guthrie's would-be 100th birthday in 2012.

Musician Ben Belcher will be joining Lindsay McCaw for this performance.
