On this free self-guided tour participants will follow a special quest map, deciphering clues to learn about Cambridge before and during the American Revolution. Geared toward schoolchildren and their families, the quest begins at George Washington’s former headquarters (now the Longfellow National Historic Site), at 105 Brattle Street. A treasure box waits at the end.
Quest maps—available year-round—can be picked up at the Hooper-Lee-Nichols House (159 Brattle Street), the Longfellow National Historic Site, and the information kiosk in Harvard Square. On July 28 the CHS staff will be at the Hooper-Lee-Nichols House from 10:00 a.m. until noon to meet questors, answer questions, and hear your thoughts about this activity.
This project was funded by the Massachusetts Society of the Cincinnati. Seek, and history ye shall find!
