The Medford Family Network (MFN) of the Medford Public Schools is a free parenting education and family support program for families with children from birth through age 7, who live or work in Medford. We focus on the positive impact on the developmental process of these children through supporting the families who care for them.

This is accomplished via parenting education workshops; discussion groups; age-specific playgroups; a new moms group; home visitation; family events; lending library of parenting books; drop-in playgroups; information and referral services; family literacy initiatives and individual consultation.

There are programs for dads, grandparents, single parents, working parents, at-home parents, parents who speak other languages, and more. Programs are held at the Medford Family Network Family Center and at other sites around Medford - weekdays, evenings and Saturdays. Parent advisory and leadership roles are available and encouraged.

All adults caring for young children are welcome!

New Mom’s Group:
Are you a new mom? Would you like to join a group of others who know exactly what you mean by the word “tired”? Drop in to this group to get yourself out of the house, introduce your baby to the world and talk to others who understand the challenges of new motherhood!

Dads are Great Program:
Are you a new dad? This program helps create connections between dads and others in a fathering role by offering weekday and weekend activities.

Visiting Moms Program:
This home based program for pregnant women and parents of newborns, matches trained Visiting Mom volunteers with families who would benefit from having a supportive connection. The focus is on the concerns and questions of new parents and it offers individualized attention for new Families.

Fitness & Well Being Programs:
Great programs for post-partum moms to strengthen, stretch & tone.

Playgroups:
We have a variety of Drop In groups at the Family Center; age specific playgroups, themed playgroups (nutrition, culture, fairy tales), sing-a- longs, music & movement programs.

Information & Referral Services:
If you have questions or concerns about your children, family or just want to know about community resources, you can always call on the Medford Family Network. We will listen and help you find the information you need!

Please contact the MFN soon so that we might add you to our newsletter mailing list! Remember ALL programs are FREE to the families of Medford!
