Online companion to the popular television restaurant review show. Phantom dines anonymously in local restaurants and gives honest reviews.

Great Ate Section
'Great Ate' lists 8 of Phantom's favorite choices for dining in a certain category. Phantom's Great Ates are updated periodically according to his own dining experiences and your feedback.

Who is the Phantom?
We can't tell you that! But we can tell you this...

The Phantom is an anonymous restaurant critic who dines in disguise, never revealing his identity and always paying his own bills. That way, he serves up the most honest and trustworthy restaurant reviews possible. Other recognizable, announced critics frequently get special food and service. Phantom forgoes these perks so that his experience will reflect what you can expect when you visit a given restaurant.

Phantom's 'Restaurant Report Cards' provide a comprehensive look at the entire dining experience, from the food to the service to the atmosphere, even the parking. Each week Phantom also discovers a 'Hidden Jewel', a terrific, unusual place you might not find out about if it weren't for the all-knowing Phantom.

The Phantom Gourmet Television Show
The Phantom Gourmet's first television broadcast was on June 26, 1993. The Phantom Gourmet quickly developed a cult following, winning 'Best Talk Show' from Boston Magazine in 1994, and it's now the most recognized name in the region for restaurant reviews and food information. In September 2003, Phantom Gourmet, Inc. signed a deal with Viacom, bringing the Phantom Gourmet program to UPN38 Saturdays and Sundays from 11am-12noon. In addition, Phantom's 'Restaurant Report Card' segments air regularly on CBS 4 News at 4:30pm and UPN38's Nightcast at 10pm.

Phantom Gourmet Radio Show
In February 1995, WBZ 1030AM NEWSRADIO added the Phantom Gourmet to its Marconi award-winning broadcasts. The Phantom Gourmet is a ninety second feature that airs weekdays at 10:56AM and weekends at 2:56 PM and 3:56 PM.

Food & Wine Festival, Sat 2 May 2009

I purchased 4 tickets to the food & wine festival, which I thought would be alot of fun & something different to do. We got there at about 3:30 & it was packed. We were all very dissappointed because all the advertisement from the Phantom Gourmet show & the Andelman's always said there were a 'Limited' amount of tickets to be sold. That was a big lie & probably a big way to get more people to buy the tickets thinking it wouldn't be so crowded. It was a disaster! The lines at all booths were so long that people were waiting for over 40 minutes just to get a tiny sample. All the lines were ridiculously long & we couldn't believe it. So we ended up leaving after 5 minutes. Things are tough these days & I felt that I just threw $120 plus $12 to park for a total of $132 out the window! It was lousy for the Phantom Gourmet to allow that many tickets to be sold & they should be ashamed of themselves. Maybe they should of had more booths with more workers there too. Very dissapointed & feel that you should give me a refund.

Sparky's Wings N' Things, Fri 1 May 2009

I actually look forward to coming into Haverhill, knowing that Sparky's is in town. I am addicted to the Asian Firecracker wings.... Wings are 'Excellent' Jamey... keep it up.

Jimmy K's, Mon 2 Mar 2009

This restaurant just opened back in December and it is already a super place to go. Everything is fresh, homemade and incredibly low, low prices. They serve breakfast from opening to closing at 9pm. The waitstaff is friendly and knowledgable, the atmosphere is super- a real little 'cheers' where everyone knows each other. Parking is super- they are in a small mini mall. Daily homemade soups, liver and onions, fresh roasted turkey, fresh seafood everyday, desserts, sundaes and shakes,,,MMM MMM Good!

Chicken Wings And 'things', Mon 12 Jan 2009

Sparky's Wings & Things on Emerson Street, Haverhill not only has the best chicken wings (everything from Buffalo to Peanut Butter & Jelly) but they also have fantastic burgers - personal favorite - burger bomb. I've also heard their Black N Blue Burger is to die for for blue cheese fans. And just so hot dogs don't feel left out - try the 'spiney' dog- a Sparky's exclusive

Bella's Pizza, Wed 10 Dec 2008

You must go here and have a slice of some of the best pizza you will ever taste. A BIG SLICE OF HEAVEN IN A TINY PLACE..NOT TO BE MISSED..... Catherine from Canton. Bellas is located on Beumont street near the Canton Junction train station.

Vics Waffle House In Tewksbury Rt38, Sun 30 Nov 2008

Best place for breakfest, good food ,good price and pleasant waitresses the phantom hasnt been here yet,but its a place worth driving to.

Jalapeno's Grill Walpole, MA, Fri 31 Oct 2008

I recently dined at Jalapeno's and rate it as an 'authentic' Mexican restaurant. Having lived in Mexico for the past 16 years I know true Mexican cuisine and owner, Ricardo, serves it up well. The service was great and the menu varied and affordable. Who would have thought I'd find great Mexican food in Walpole Center?

Lazio Italian Grille And Bar, Mon 22 Sep 2008

Last Saturday we had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful Itilian Restaurant, located at 318 Main Street in Northborough, MA. the food was extremely good, the atmosphere relaxed and the service wonderful. I would recommend this restaurnat to anyone who enjoys Italian food and wine.

Maine Diner, Wells, ME, Sat 3 May 2008

Went to the Maine Diner in Wells, Maine on the Phantom;s advice and tried the lobster roll and the Lobster Pie. The service was good, but the food was average and at best very expensive. Two meals, two cokes, and one dessert ran about $50 plus tip. Won't make that mistake again as we won't be going back.

Hot Dogs, Sat 3 May 2008

I recently tried Bad Dawgs Gourmet Hot Dogs in Lowell and this place rocks. No one else has over 40 different topings like these guys. I went in to eat one dog and left after 5. All the dogs are named after dog breeds so pick your favorite. Meaty, juicy dogs on a soft bun. Just addictive...
