Solid old-fashioned shoe store with helpful and knowledgeable staff & great service in Lexington Center. Prices run from moderate to expensive, but you'll get great service that still measures your feet and they still kneel down and put the shoes on you!

It has been said, that Michaelson's is a good store to go if you are looking for odd sizes or if you need special help in finding shoes. Some of the guys are nice and some are gruff but they really know their business and make sure that you get fitted properly.

our experience at the needham store was not great. the guy tried to measure my daughter's foot with her foot suspended in the air and he only measured her foot after i insisted on it. he seemed like he did not know what he was doing - another staff member had to suggest which shoes he should present to us, he seemed very interested in getting us prescription shoes - which would presumably bring $ for the store. he was dismissive and rude.

We took our 2.5 year old twins to Michelson's today and had a great experience. They took the time with each child to carefully measure their feet, and when Maria brought out shoes for them to try on, she brought out great styles at reasonable prices. Then she carefully watched the children walk in the shoes to be sure that they fit properly and 'broke' in the right place. My children were very happy to finally be in shoes that fit right. Then she helped me pick out shoes! I have problem feet, and she talked me out of pumps and into flats and is actually ordering the shoes in the right color from another store for me. Then they will stretch them to fit my oddly shaped toes.
