Try more, be more, and find your spark. Our two-week residential or day pre high school summer programs are for ages 12–14 (rising grades 7-9). We get that you're figuring out who you want to be—and the more you experiment, the more you'll know. Discover the world of people, places, ideas, and you.Since our founding in 1976 as a nonprofit startup at MIT, EXPLO has created transformational learning environments of intellectual inquiry and spirited adventure. As we celebrate our 50th Summer, we’ve brought together over 90,000 students and educators from 101 countries for summer enrichment programs.
EXPLO isn’t like summer camp — but it isn’t like school, either. Each day is designed to let students try different things, develop their strengths, and build new skills.
On any given day, students could be engineering aerodynamic rockets, designing their own clothing line, and investigating a crime scene — all before lunch. And since students structure their own day, they get to choose the workshops and electives they take and the activities and trips they participate in.
Each day at EXPLO is designed to encourage learners to dive right into new and different subjects and activities to develop their strengths and build new skills — surprising themselves with all that they’re capable of.
Join us at beautiful, historic Wellesley College just outside Boston. This wooded 500-acre campus boasts extensive academic and recreational facilities, a scenic lakefront, a botanical garden, an art museum, and lively Wellesley Square just outside the gates.
From movie and spa nights to concerts and carnivals, there’s always something happening on campus.
Less than 30 minutes away: the universe of culture, sports, entertainment, and recreation of Greater Boston, where you can join foodie tours, harbor cruises, park outings, and more.
