What's open for fun on Christmas day? Click on each venue below for full information.

It's always best to call ahead, but here is a general overview of what's open.

Most major food stores, like Stop & Shop, Target, Trader Joe's, Walmart, Wegmans and Whole Food, will close early Christmas Eve and be closed throughout Christmas Day, reopening at normal hours on Dec. 26.

Boston Museum of Science: CLOSED.
Movie Theaters: OPEN
Chinese & Jewish Restaurants: OPEN (call to confirm)

What else is open?
Many Dunkin' and Starbucks locations will be open. Of course, hours will vary.

1. Branch Line – Watertown
If you've dined at Branch Line for weekend brunch, you know you can look forward to some yummy comfort food on Christmas Eve. While there is not yet a specific menu available online, dinner sides often include mac and cheese, creamed corn, and rosemary fries, to name a few. Reserve your table online or call 617-420-1900.

2. Clink. – Boston
This Christmas, Clink. serves up main courses and delicious delicacies. This popular restaurant at the Liberty Bar is also hosting New Year's Eve prix fixe dinners. Reserve online or call 617-224-4004 to book your table.

3. Cantina Italiana – Boston
Cantina Italiana is open on Christmas in Boston for dinner and lunch. Families in the mood for a delicious, traditional Italian meal will get their Christmas wish granted. Reserve online or call 617-723-4577 to reserve.

4. Concord's Colonial Inn – Concord
The Annual Christmas Day Buffet at the Colonial Inn is open once again! Enjoy a seafood bar, roasted meats, and seasonal favorites prepared by the chefs. Reservations are required. Call 978-341-8202 to reserve your spot.

5. Henrietta's Table – Cambridge
On Christmas day, head on over to The Charles Hotel for a warm breakfast or an afternoon/early evening meal that will be sure to satisfy you. Known for a fresh farm-to-table dining experience, your taste buds will thank you. Reserve your table online, or call 617-661-5005.

6. Joe's on Newbury – Boston
A Back Bay stalwart, Joe's distinctive American fare features steaks and seafood as well as holiday favorites for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The restaurant takes reservations over the phone (617-536-4200) and through OpenTable.

7. Rowes Wharf Sea Grille – Boston
Ring in the holiday with a gorgeous waterfront view at this classic seafood restaurant. Chef David Daniels has many specialties on the menu, including seafood towers and king crab mac and cheese. While the kids might enjoy some of the adult macaroni, there's also a nautical-themed kids menu for the younger guests. Reserve a table online.

8. Smith & Wollensky – Boston-Atlantic Wharf, Wellesley, & Burlington
All 3 locations of Smith & Wollensky's are open on Christmas Eve where they will be serving the popular winter menu. Tempt kids with steaks and burgers as well as mouthwatering desserts like Gigantic Chocolate Cake and Campfire Sundaes. Call 617-778-2200 (Congress St. location) to reserve.

9. Tamo Bistro + Bar – Boston
Tamo is a picturesque Boston Seaport restaurant with a festive ambiance. Enjoy the views of the Boston Harbor while making holiday memories. Reservations can be made online via OpenTable or by calling 617-385-4304.

10. Toscano – Boston & Cambridge
Travel across the world without leaving the Boston area at either of these Toscana locations. The tastes and aromas on Christmas Eve will make you think that you were truly on a Tuscan vacation. Enjoy real Italian hospitality while dining on antipasti, cheeses, pasta, pizza, and much more. Reserve online at the Beacon Hill or Harvard Square locations.

11. Town Meeting Bistro – Lexington
On December 24, bring the whole family for a prix-fixe brunch menu at Inn at Hastings Park. Enjoy the atmosphere of the restored historic main house and celebrate the Christmas season with a delicious buffet brunch.
