Unlock the magic of frame-by-frame filmmaking at the Stop-Motion Animation Lab!Hosted by Beverly Community Access Media (BevCam), this hands-on, three-hour youth intensive is perfect for both first-time creatives and experienced young videographers looking to elevate their practical animation skills.
Led by professional animator and teaching artist Lyss Lentini, students will jump straight into the fundamentals of movement and physical storytelling.
The workshop focuses on mastering a 'walk cycle'—the fundamental and challenging technique that makes a character appear to step in a continuous loop.
Participants are welcome to build custom characters using on-site modeling clay or bring their own favorite action figures, small toys, or LEGO bricks from home.
Using high-end Dragonframe stop-motion software and professional cameras, students will carefully capture each frame and walk away with a short video file of their work.
The class size is strictly capped at 12 students to ensure high-quality, personalized instruction.
