Open Streets Boston returns for its annual series, transforming major neighborhood roadways into vibrant, pedestrian-only public spaces!

Sponsored by the City of Boston's Tourism, Sports, & Entertainment Office, this event reclaims the street from vehicular traffic to give neighbors, families, and visitors a safe, open setting to walk, bike, skate, and explore local businesses.

Each neighborhood festival corridor comes alive with outdoor dining, local food trucks, interactive youth activities, and pop-up live musical performances.

It provides a unique, highly active community framework designed to promote healthy recreation, stimulate local commerce, and celebrate the diverse culture of Boston's neighborhoods.

**2026 Neighborhood Schedule:**

• Sunday, August 2:** Jamaica Plain (Centre St. from Lamartine St. to Lochstead Ave.)

• Saturday, September 12:** Mattapan (Blue Hill Ave. from River St. to Babson St.)

• Sunday, October 4:** Allston/Brighton (Brighton Ave. and Harvard Ave. from Cambridge St. to Commonwealth Ave.)

• Sunday, October 18:** Roslindale (Roslindale Square from Belgrade Ave. to Washington St.)

Held across various neighborhood main corridors in Boston. Mass transit is highly encouraged due to absolute vehicle bans and strictly enforced parking restrictions along the designated routes on event days.

The events are free and fun for all ages. Since the streets are closed off entirely to cars from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, utilizing public transit, walking, or riding your bike is the best way to get there. Parking is strictly prohibited along the routes starting at 6:00 AM.
