Join Barbara Mangum of the Somerville Museum to learn about Civil War monuments, burials, and restoration efforts at Milk Row Cemetery.

Milk Row Cemetery is a quiet oasis along bustling Somerville Avenue, nestled between Market Basket and other industrial brick buildings.

It is the oldest cemetery in Somerville, rich in history, but long neglected.

Over the past decade, the cemetery underwent a series of preservation measures, including gravestone and tombstone rehabilitation, landscaping, and conservation of the Civil War monument at the center of the cemetery.* Join Barbara Mangum, objects conservator and President of the Board of Trustees at the Somerville Museum, as she shares more about these projects.A Guided Tour of Milk Row Cemetery with Art Conservator Barbara Mangum
