During this workshop, parents will learn about The Parenting Journey, a dynamic, curriculum-based, parent development program created and implemented for more than 15 years by The Family Center.

The Parenting Journey is designed to increase parental self-nurturing, raise awareness of factors (past and present) that influence parenting styles and, ultimately, improve parenting practices.

The program fosters identification of parental strengths and encourages active participation in an environment that provides respect, empathy, social engagement, and opportunities to develop and practice skills necessary to meet personal and family goals.

While traditional parenting programs are often created to teach parents about child development and disciplinary techniques, the Parenting Journey uses experiential techniques to focus on the parents’ relationship with their children, with others and with their own personal histories.

The Parenting Journey is for parents who want to learn more about themselves, their relationships and the resources they need to effectively parent their children.

This workshop will be experiential in nature, so as to give participants a genuine taste of The Parenting Journey.
