From the unforgettable first notes of its world-famous overture, Gioachino Rossini's spectacular final opera barrels forward as a thrilling, epic anthem to human resistance, freedom, and the triumph of ordinary citizens uniting against tyrannical rule.Boston Lyric Opera proudly presents this legendary, heroic masterpiece in a fully staged Boston production for the first time in history to launch their monumental 50th Anniversary Season.
At the heart of the dramatic narrative is William Tell—the legendary archer famously known for shooting an apple off his young son's head—who steps up to lead a vibrant cast of revolutionaries.
Directed by the innovative co-directors Vita Tzykun and David Adam Moore, this sweeping production features the renowned BLO Chorus and Orchestra.
Sung beautifully in French with clear English supertitles, the performance proves that everyday people have the power to change history together and that love anchors us when our world is turned upside-down.
