Join Historic Beverly at 10am on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Hale Farm for a community reading of Frederick Douglass' powerful speech, 'What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?' as part of the Reading Frederick Douglass Together initiative.

Special guest speakers include Douglass historian and interpreter Nathan Richardson.

Mr. Richardson will contextualize Douglass' speech and will provide an opportunity to examine Douglass' work and its implications in an informal question-and-answer session.

All ages welcome.

This event will be held rain or shine at Hale Farm beginning at 10am.
