At Legal Sea Foods, you can count on two things: serious seafood and the best chowdah on the coast. Their New England style clam chowder is creamy but not too rich, thick but not heavy, and perfectly balanced with briny bivalves and potatoes. Even their hot rolls are something to look forward to!

Sleek restaurant design and forty fish varieties make this a fun, happening place to dine. It manages to welcome both the casual and the upscale diner with ease.

They do offer a kids menu that doubles as a coloring & activity page.

Occasional guest chefs from abroad generate exciting menu influences from China, the Caribbean, and India.

3-starHit or miss
I went to the Legal Seafoods in Burlington with my wife, son and inlaws. Half was awesome, half was not so good. It is definitely a little spendy for what you get. Of course we got the surf and turf which didn't help the cause, but the other stuff on the menu was not cheap. Between all of us, what was really good was: Filet mignon, caesar salad, burger. What was really good for two of us, but horrible for my wife was: the lobster. What was terrible was: the prime rib. The ambiance is real nice, the service was good (there were about 50 people between managers, hostesses, wait staff, bussers). Our waitress was nice enough to hear us complaining softly about the prime rib and take it off the bill. Overall, I had the perfect meal, everyone else had a so so experience.
1-starDon't Go
This is not a 'family priced' restaurant. The food was OK - simple, uninspired, but overpriced. I do not recommend this restaurant with kids - two adults and two children came to $100. The ad says that the food is inspired by different cultures - but I didn't get that - there was nothing authentic about the food 'inspired from abroad' - instead, my fish was saturated in a sauce that could have come directly from a bottle.
5-starPark Square Legal Seafoods
I had a delightful dining experience at the Legal Seafood on June 28th. I am a celiac and was delighted at the gluten free items available. The muffins were wonderful. The server, Elena M was a gem. All the staff was very concerned about my special dietary needs. I returned with my family for dinner the next night and all was just a good as at lunch. Keep the good work and fine quality of food. I am from New York and we have a Legal Seafood in Huntington. It is not as good as the one I visited in Boston.
1-starNot A Good Start To Our Vacation
Have been dining at Legal Seafods terminal C for 4 yrs. prior to getting on a plane to reach our vacation destination. This year I had the crab over a bed of field greens, 30-45 mins. later I was in the bathroom violently ill, I had to board the plane feeling still so ill. It was a miserable 5 1/2 hr. flight.
2-starWaste Of Money
I have been dining at Legal for over 15 years and always enjoyed my experience. Lately everything has gone down hill, and fast. I dined at the New england Aquarium location yesterday for lunch and the food was just terrible. The tuna sashimi appitizer was so grissily and tough. They used to serve sushi grade tuna. The fish and chips was nasty. I received 3 tiny pieces of fish with greasy, burned batter. The fries were soggy and cold and the coleslaw was warm. The only half decent entree was the baked haddock, but even that was only so so . The waiter did take the tuna of the bill. So sad, used to be a Boston institution. Tim
1-starLegal Seafood Was An Absolutely Awful Experience In Dining
I will not visit this restaurant again............!! We were totally disappointed in the service, and the food was unappealing.........to say the least. This eating establishment in my opinion, does not qualify for even a one star rating.
1-starHorrible Experience
I took a client to lunch @ Legal Seafood in the Sawgrass in Sunrise, FL: today. it was a horrible experience. we were seated @ a table & no one acknowledged us. after 15 minutes i stopped a waiter walking by who said he would start us off until our waiter was available. we got our beverages & i ordered a bowl of clam chowder for starters. it came out COLD! not even room temperaturee - COLD!. my client said her salmon was good but only lukewarm. she asked for extra lemon for her tea and not only did she never get it she didn't even get a single piece when the waiter finally refilled her glass. i ordered a salad w/scallops & was told you were out of the dressing after waiting 15 minutes for the order. i picked a substitute dressing & got a salad w/out scallops. i got tired of waiting for the scallops as my client was now finished her lunch so i finally said just give me a check & let me out of here. i left nothing for the waiter because i had the worst service ever. with food & service like this i don't plan on going back to Legal Seafood anytime soon. i can't even imagine how the restaurant is still in business w/the likes of Cheesecake Factory & Grand Lux for competition.
2-starQuality has gone WAY downhill
I agree with the prior post - Legal Seafood used to be one of our local favorites. But the last 3-4 times we've been there we've noticed a dramatic slide in quality as well. So much so, that the last two times we went we had to send food back. (We go to either Burlington or Natick). We really enjoy fried whole clams, and when we order them we make sure to ask in advance if they are big or small. We were told that they were big the last two times, so we ordered them. They might as well have been clam strips. NO bellies at all. When we attempted to send them back - they merely said that they appreciated the feedback, and that was it. They wouldn't take them off of the bill. It takes a LOT for me to send food back. But it happened two out of the last three visits. We won't be back at Legal for a long time. Terribly disappointing.
2-starDisappointment Abounds
The first time I went to Legal was over 15 years ago and it was great. As with many things these days, however, the quality has seriously gone down while the prices have skyrocketed. Last night was one of the more disappointing meals I've had in a long time--the shrimp and trout were both SALTY--it was disgusting. Broccoli was cold, pilaf was not worth the effort, the jasmine rice had clearly been reheated in a microwave. Really unimpressive. The chowder was also not as good as some I've had in Boston in recent years. This was my first time at the Kendall Sq location, so maybe that was it, but it will be a while before I feel like spending the money and trying the Copley Legal (the best one in my memory). Also, drinks were insanely overpriced and the lighting was so poor I could barely read the menu or see my food. Don't go here--there are other places that are better and worth the money.
4-starLegal Seafood
I could not believe a disappointing review of Legal Seafood in Braintree. We eat there often, and have NEVER had anything but good service and fresh, well prepared seafood. The most reliable restaurant, and has been for thirty years since they were only in Cambridge.
