The Assabet Park on South Street (Rt 135) in downtown Northborough is a great place to spend visit for families with young kids. The splash park has many spray fountains, etc... It's shaded and has staff on hand to monitor. Next to it is a good-sized playground with a large, complex climbing/sliding structure, see-saws, picnic tables, port-a-potty, etc.

The park is open from 12:30-6:00pm daily all summer and is a great getaway. Less than a mile away is Tom's Gourmet Marketplace where you'll find the BEST meals you can imagine, including Ciabattas and gelato. A great getaway for a hot summer day.

not worth the trip, Wed 11 Jul 2007

We're always looking for things to do in the area. We drove 45 minutes from Foxboro last Saturday to get here. It's a cute place to take the kids if you live within 5 minutes of the park, otherwise its definitely not worth the trek. It's little more that a few fountains of water that the kids run through..which you can pretty much set up at home yourself. The $4 for non residents is ridiculous...never mind that there are only two picnic tables, so unless you bring your own chairs, there's nowhere to sit down. Stay home and fill the kiddie pool.

We make best efforts to update information, but it changes frequently, so we cannot warrant it. Please call to check Assabet Splash Pad schedules, fees, and directions before making the trek. We help you, please help us. Report an Error if you find one.
