Kaleidoscope Children's Museum is the vision of two NH State certified art teachers. Having small children of their own they recognized the need in the Concord area for a venue for small children and families to connect and explore. This children's museum is a space designed to engage kids in hands-on interactive play, inspire them to be creative and expressive, and nurture their intelligence and imagination. Technology takes a back seat at Kaleidoscope where families are encouraged to touch, play, pretend and interact with each other. Come play with us!
Exhibit Highlights
Mini-Main Street: Stroll down Main Street and try on the various hats of shop owners. Bake a cake for a special occassion, or fix the tire on your favorite race car. Build your own pizza and bake it in our brick oven or tend to a sick pet. Slide down the fireman's pole as you race off to the firetruck on an emergency call. Ring the bell as you serve up your friends' favorite ice cream flavors or make-over your mom at the beauty shop. Deliver the mail to our shop owners or sit on the bench and watch the people stroll by.
Jammin' Tree House: Is your child a musician? Visit our tree house to explore the many unique instruments in our loft studio.
Castle Themed Stage: Does your little one see stars? Climb the turrets of our castle stage to look through the telescope or the kaleidoscope. Back stage there are costumes galore for dressing up. Put on your own show, big or small. There is even a puppet theatre!
Pirate Ship: Ahoy Mateys!: Thar' be pirates! Climb aboard our pirate's ship and climb, explore and imagine yourself out at sea! Treasure hunting? There just may be sunken treasure to be found.
Arts Alive!: Whenever classes are not being held in the classroom space, families can find easels, supplies and craft ideas readily available for the little artist in all of us.

- You do not have to wander through the mill to get here! Park in back and there are 2 private entrances! From Commercial Street, turn onto Waumbec Street. You will see the river in front of you, park and there are 2 entrances directly to the museum. The Main Entrance is on the river side of the mill and has granite steps with an iron railing. There is also a door on the North End of the mill which leads to an indoor ramped entrance. Both have gold and black signage for Kaleidoscope. Due to the historic nature of the mill they are not allowed a larger or more ostentatious sign. :) Finding it is an adventure, but well worth it!
