Swordsmanship, Fencing & Martial ArtsMount Ida is a traditional summer camp on the 85-acre campus of Mt. Ida College. Activities include sports, music, drama, arts and crafts, and more.
Mount Ida Day Camp encourages physical activity, socialization and a positive self-image in children between ages 4 and 13. Each camper has the opportunity to excel in areas where he or she is proficient and experience new activities in a secure, nurturing environment. All activities take place on the beautiful grounds of Mount Ida College which includes two swimming pools, plenty of shade and all the amenities of a campus environment.
Camp is organized into three sub-camps consisting of Lower (4-5 years), Middle (6-7 years), and Upper (8-13 years). The Middle and Upper groups are arranged by age and gender. Each group has trained and confident role models as counselors. Campers come together for swimming lessons and Friday's inter-group competition. This enables the children to interact and expand their confidence with campers of all ages and genders.
Experienced counselors are committed to creating a summer camp environment rich with opportunity and still sensitive to each camper's individuality. For more than 40 years, boys and girls from across the region have enjoyed a fun, healthy and memorable summer at Mount Ida Day Camp.
