Join hundreds of area residents and art enthusiasts at this year’s Open Studios at 144 and 289 Moody Street, November 6-7, 2010.

Together with Lincoln Studios, Waltham Mills Artists Association (WMAA) will open its doors to the public for this free, annual event where visitors are invited to walk through more than 80 artists’ studios, meet the artists, and view and buy their work.

Artists will open their doors on Saturday, November 6 from 12-6 p.m. and Sunday, November 7 from 12-5 p.m.

Waltham Mills Artists Association, occupying two adjacent buildings at 144 Moody Street, is one of Greater Boston’s oldest artists’ communities, with more than 70 artists working in a wide range of media, including sculpture, glass, printmaking, painting, textiles, photography, woodworking, film, video and much more.

Some of the artists have worked in the Mills for 30 years, while others will make their Open Studios debut this year. Lincoln Studios, a newer artists’ community that occupies the old Jordan’s furniture building at 289 Moody Street, houses more than a dozen artists, a gallery space, classroom space and an art supply store.

Open Studios is a free, family-friendly event. Come with your holiday gift list in mind or just come for a unique experience. Waltham Mills is easily accessible by public transportation and the Charles River bike path. Free parking is available at RTN Credit Union (600 Main St.,
Waltham) during Open Studios hours. Moody Street is a destination in itself, with dozens of restaurants, shops and amenities to round out your day.
