Monday, April 5th
'Making Treasure from Trash' - 1:30-2:20pm, LE303 (Lynn) - Local filmmaker Kevin Carey & event founder Sean Devlin will show clips of their documentary film, 'The Trashfinder's Ball,' & discuss the making of the film & ideas about local community events that can be turned into documentary projects.
Tuesday, April 6th
The Real Hip Hop is Over Here! - 9:30-10:45am, DB123 (back of Danvers Berry Café) - Join Prof. Yusef Hayes & enjoy student breakdancing, DJ'ing, MC'ing, & Graffiti Art.
Hip Hop Lesson - 11-11:30am, DB123 (back of Danvers Berry Café) - Now that you've seen hip hop, try it for yourself! Join Hip Hop Instructor & NSCC student, Kasaundra Butler, for a hip hop lesson. Get out on that dance floor & have some fun!
Wednesday, April 7th
Multicultural Poetry Reading - 1:30-3pm, LE303 (Lynn) - Organized by Dr. Luz Rodriguez, English as a Second Language (ESL) Department Chair. Students will be presenting a series of poems in their native languages. Come enjoy listening to the rhythmic sounds of poetry in a variety of foreign languages! English translations will also be provided so that participants can understand the meaning of the poems as well. Discussion of poetry presented is welcome following the presentation.
Kinderschrecker! (The Child Frighteners - Shadow plays inspired by spooky tales from around the world) - 1:00-1:15pm, LW329 (Lynn) - Join the Performing Arts Council (PAC) as they venture into the dark side of the world's collective imagination. Witches, ogres & monsters of every size & shape take center stage in this unique & chilling exploration of the shared arts of storytelling & shadow theatre.
Dancing with the Staff! - 7pm, Lynn Gym - NSCC students, staff & faculty will pair up in a friendly dance competition to benefit SHOC (Stop Hunger on Campus) at NSCC. Come watch your professors & classmates sail (or stumble!) across the dance floor to fund an important cause! Free w/NSCC Student ID; suggested donation: $5.

Faces in the Hall Photographs - 12-1pm, Danvers Berry Café - Watch the debut of the 2010 'Faces' photo slide show that portrays & celebrates the diversity & spirit of our NSCC community. Come find out who the winners are for this year. Sponsored by the Diversity Leadership Committee.

'Spark' Your Mind - 9:30-10:45am, DH111 (Student Study area near Danvers bookstore) -Join Prof. Lisa Altomari as we unveil & celebrate the second annual publication of NSCC's graphic & literary arts magazine, Spark. Meet the writers & artists, & listen to readings from our own newly published authors.

The Art & History of Typography - 12:30-2pm, LW301 (Lynn) - Take a trip through the art & history of typography. Learn about Baskerville's body, & who invented the lowercase. See how Gutenberg screwed up because of point size. Learn how Napoleon was involved with the square serif. Your guide is Frank Romano, author, Professor Emeritus, at Rochester Institute of Technology & President of the Museum of Printing in North Andover, MA.
Comedy Club - 12:30-1:30pm, Student Lounge (Danvers) - Sponsored by Program Council, come take a break from your busy schedule & laugh out loud with an A-list comedian who has toured across the country.

Multicultural Fair - 10am-1pm, Danvers Berry Café - Travel to foreign lands without leaving campus! Enjoy sights, sounds, & foods from various cultures. Sponsored by Student Life.
'Spark' Your Mind - 11:30am-12:20pm, LW323 (Lynn) - Prof. Mark Sherf's Creative Writing class will be performing in varied artistic mediums including poetry, theatre & fiction. The class will also host students featured in the school's literary magazine Spark reading their works. And with whatever time is left over there will be an open mike.
Thursday, April 15th
Hallowell Choir - 9:15-10:15am, Danvers Berry Café - The superb singers of Hallowell will perform a selection of their favorite songs. Additionally, they will share their experiences & ideas about the meaning of end of life issues & opportunities derived from singing for hospice in the Brattleboro, VT area & other locations across the country.
Film Presentation: 'Manufactured Landscapes' (2007) - 11:00am-12:45pm, DH119 (Danvers) - Introduction by Prof. Joseph Modugno. Follow Edward Burtynsky as he travels through China photographing the effects of their massive industrial revolution.

Fredie Cumberland Environmental Art Display - 9:30am-12:00pm - Foyer outside of Cafeteria (Lynn) - Enjoy an amazing exhibit of visionary art created by a local artist who discovers his materials in the natural world.
