LITERACISE, the new exhibit at the Boston Public Library, encourages children – and their families! – to zig-zag, bunny-hop, and giant-step their way through Boston author Irene Smalls’ popular children's book, Jonathan and His Mommy.
Literacise will get families up and moving and will teach parents about the important connection between physical activity and learning. The exhibit is in English and Spanish.
Literacise is located adjacent to the Rey Children’s Room on the first floor of the Central Library in Copley Square at 700 Boylston Street. The opening reception is scheduled for Saturday, October 3 at 11:30 a.m.
* Bilingual exhibit (English/Spanish)
* Accompanying reading list, exhibit-related programming, including storytelling and special guest visits
* Print and online materials relating the connection between physical activity and learning
* Literacise Fashion Exhibit with exercise wear from recycled books, magazines, and newspapers
