Boston Landmarks Orchestra Festival at the ShellEvery Wednesday night at 7:00pm enjoy free concerts with the Boston Landmarks Orchestra at the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade. Bring a blanket or chairs and hear the glorious sounds of the BLO on the banks of the Charles River.

Classic works of Aaron Copland that have shaped and defined American music.

July 18 Fiesta Sinfónica
Christopher Wilkins, Conductor
Dance music from two worlds performed by the Landmarks Orchestra and a 'pocket-sized salsa orchestra” from Villa Victoria in the South End. Merengue and mambo on an epic scale.

July 25 At the River
Christopher Wilkins, Conductor
The Landmarks Orchestra’s annual ‘Green’ concert celebrates the natural beauty and life-giving properties of our waterways. In partnership with area advocates for clean and safe water.

Aug 1 Boston Civic Symphony
Max Hobart, Conductor
Music from the Boston Civic Symphony provided by the conductor, Max Hobart, playing pieces from artists such as Gustav Holst, Édouard Lalo, and even Beethoven!

Aug 8 Collaboration with Boston Lyric Opera
David Angus, Conductor
Popular works by Puccini, Wagner, Mozart, and Bernstein, and featuring singers from Boston Lyric Opera.

Aug 15 Longwood Symphony Orchestra
Piano Concerto No. 21 (Wolfgang Mozart)

Aug 22 Landmarks Virtuosos
Christopher Wilkins, Conductor
The Landmarks Orchestra’s newest annual tradition features its own musicians as soloists. Thrilling music for four horns and orchestra, a multiple instrument concerto by Haydn, and Mendelssohn’s exuberant ‘Italian’ symphony.

Aug 29 Symphonic Shakespeare
Christopher Wilkins, Conductor
Drama of Shakespearean proportions in music and the spoken word. Actors from Commonwealth Shakespeare Co. perform Henry V, Hamlet, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream to music composed for those plays.
