The motto of Marimba Magic is “creative fun with percussion.” Marimba Magic students (ages 5-8) explore sounds on percussion instruments, including gongs, xylophones, a variety of drums, and many more intriguing sound makers from around the world. Marimba Magic ensembles have performed throughout the United States and in Europe.
Students delight in the music they create and develop superb musicianship for future study on piano, strings or winds Playing in a Marimba Magic ensemble is like being on a team. Students are motivated by the job of playing music together.
Eurhythmics is designed to teach music to children ages 3-10 through the “muscular sense,” by teaching rhythmic movement of the whole body. Available offerings include Music and Movement Classes for 3-4 year olds, Introduction to Piano Classes for 5-8 year olds, and Improvisation and Composition Classes and Rhythmic Training Classes for 6-10 year olds
The classes emphasize individual expression and creativity through group activities involving singing, listening, rhythmic classes, and other musical movement. By experiencing music through the whole body students gain skills that can be applied to playing instruments such as rhythmic activity, and melodic and harmonic direction.
