Since 2001 Sudbury Days has traveled to the far corners of the earth for inspiration. This year Sudbury Day looks no farther than its own backyard by celebrating Sudbury and the “Spirit of 01776”: a unique town with a special zip code reflecting the town’s revolutionary ideals. The 7th annual Sudbury Day will also be held at a new time and a new location: April 4th indoors at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School.

The popular Children’s Pavilion has been completely revamped, offering activities for everyone from tots to teens. Children of all ages (3 to 18) can participate in exciting games of chance and physical activities, including extraordinary interactive inflatables and bouncers never before seen at Sudbury Day and favorites from years past, such as Mining for Gems and the Prize Wheel. Kids should bring their tossing arm for a wide selection of carnival games. Cost is $10 per child for the whole event or $1 per individual booth.

This year’s performances on the “Festival Stage” will offer several unique experiences for participants, including an opening parade lead by the Sudbury Minutemen and Fyfe & Drum Companie, and the opportunity to learn street dancing. Other performers include: Sorbonne-educated comedian and acrobat Etienne whose blend of circus and charisma is pure magic; the Hip Hop Mamas, a dance troupe featuring local moms lead by Sudbury resident Elizabeth Bernstein; the urban dance troupe Losst Unnown lead by Fadayz; the Dancer’s Workshop Performance Group; and Branches Pan Groove Steel Band, a group of steel drummers ranging from age 7 to 60.

The event’s many sponsors, including “Sudbury” sponsors Steven D. Cohen DMD, Cara Donley Pediatric Dentistry, Emerson Medical, Gravestar Inc., Marlborough Savings Bank, Noon Turf Care, Sudbury Farms, and Sudbury Pharmacy, make the free entertainment possible.

More than 100 exhibits will be set up throughout the hallways featuring crafts from Massachusetts artisans, businesses, and community organizations, many of which feature children’s activities. By popular demand, the Children’s Identification Program (ChIP) returns!

Restaurants that will be selling food include Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop, Firefly’s BBQ, Karma Coffee Roasters, Savory to Sweet Catering, Slush King, Sweet Pepper Thai Cuisine, and The Wayside Inn.
