Fall Arts & Humanities festival at the Old Manse: 3 days, many events and activities -- prize-winning author of 'The Peabody Sisters', Megan Marshall will give a talk on Sophia Peabody Hawthorne at 1 PM on 8/11, in honor of Sophia's 200th birthday; The Concord Poetry Center will perform, declaim and present original poetry and other literary work starting at 1 PM on 8/10.

There will also be music--lots of music!-- food and exhibits by local painters and photographers, including a new installation in the Nursery gallery on New England Literature and the Landscape (prints and photographs) by site intern Stephanie Cardon. The Drinking Gourd Project -- Concord's Abolition history project, will be at the festival, and the site will be open for landscape house and attic interpretive tours.
