Down:2:Earth (D2E), returns to the Hynes Convention Center in Boston April 9, 10, and 11 with a complete line-up of sustainable living exhibits, presentations, and workshops focusing on the benefits of eco-friendly products, services, gardening, fashion, jobs, and food. A large portion of this year’s D2E will focus on topics of interest to kids, teens, and families.

In addition to numerous exhibits that will capture the interest of kids and teens, many special programs will be of interest to families. For younger kids, the D2E Kids Block will feature activities such as butter-making, a demonstration of the role worms play in farming, story-telling and book readings complete with chickens, and other kid-friendly workshops.

Mahoney’s sustainable garden installation will feature bird houses decorated with recycled materials, and a birds nest 5 feet across! There will also be numerous food sampling from cheeses to kid-friendly snacks. Teens and pre-teens will enjoy the entire show and of special interest is “Now2Next: Clean Energy Opportunities for Teens,” a panel for teens.

Dr. Mayim Bialik (PhD in neuroscience) of the Holistic Moms Network, and former star of the TV show Blossom, will present a workshop on holistic parenting on Sunday, April 11 at 3:00pm.

5-starD2E Is A Great Event
I've been to D2E last year and it was a really great time for everybody. We learned a lot of fun information, tried different things, and saw lots of interesting demonstrations. It was a perfect combination of fun, entertaining, and informative. Good activities for everybody in the family.
