Event Highlights
Fall River has a large Portuguese/Azorean population. Each year, the celebration kicks off on Thursday evening with Portuguese Night at Heritage State Park. The ambience is created by a combination of decorations, singing, dancing, ethnic costumes, entertainment and Portuguese culinary delights - chourico, favas, malassadas, marinated pork and more.

Amusement Rides
Mark Fanelli's Traveling Amusements will be open on the State Pier.
Food Fair
An International Food Fair, one of the festival's biggest attractions, offers a wide variety of outstanding, unique ethnic fare. This year the Food Fair, which includes Desserts & Sweets, will relocate to the Fall River Carousel Parking Lot. Friends of Heritage State Park will once again offer their 'All American' Food Court under the big tent at the south end of the meadow at Heritage State Park.
Arts & Crafts
Browse through the Arts, Crafts and Collectibles Area, located together with the International Food Fair at the Carousel Parking Lot, that features handmade and handcrafted items, baseball cards, collectibles and general merchandise. Great bargains and unique gift ideas are standard fare.
Parade
On Sunday at 1:00 p.m. the two-hour parade begins it's march down Bedford Street from Diman Regional High School where it steps off. The FRCA Parade is filled with floats, marching bands, drum and bugle corps, military bands, clowns, horses, fife and drum units, and more.
Parking & Transportation
Free satellite parking, handicapped parking and public transportation to and from the waterfront are available in several locations in the city to accommodate visitors to this spectacular five-day event.
Battleship Cove
In addition to Fall River Celebrates America, the waterfront offers a variety of year round attractions such as Battleship MASSACHUSETTS, destroyer USS Kennedy, submarine Lionfish, PT Boat Museum, Marine Museum at Fall River, Heritage State Park, Old Colony & Fall River Railroad Museum and the Fall River Carousel.
As Fall River continues to celebrate America, it cultivates a better understanding of our nation's heritage, develops a greater reverence for our flag, nurtures a deeper love of our country, and promotes a greater pride in our community.
