U.S. Fund for UNICEF New England will host its annual UNICEF Children’s Champion Award Dinner in Boston to highlight UNICEF’s lifesaving work to put children first.

UNICEF Children’s Champion Award Dinner Honoring Pedro and Carolina Martinez and Kaia Miller Goldstein Featuring Live Performance by Boston Native Pop Star Rachel Platten.

On Thursday, June 2, U.S. Fund for UNICEF New England will host its annual UNICEF Children’s Champion Award Dinner in Boston to highlight UNICEF’s lifesaving work to put children first, pay tribute to humanitarians who have shown extraordinary commitment to saving and improving the lives of children and celebrate the impact the 2016 UNICEF Kid Power Boston team created for their peers around the world.

Pedro Martinez, former Boston Red Sox pitcher and 2015 National Baseball Hall of Fame inductee, and his wife Carolina Martinez will receive the Children’s Champion Award for the tremendous impact they have had on the lives of children and their families in the Dominican Republic.

Kaia Miller Goldstein, Board Chair of the U.S.

Fund for UNICEF New England region, will be honored with the Helenka Pantaleoni Humanitarian Award for her tireless commitment to economic development, education and making the world a better place for the world’s most vulnerable children and their families.

The event will feature a performance by multi-platinum recording artist Rachel Platten, live auction and after party hosted by UNICEF Next Generation.

Why: UNICEF works in more than 190 countries and territories to put children first, and has helped save more children’s lives than any other humanitarian organization.

The evening is a celebration of UNICEF’s work, as well as a tribute to the outstanding humanitarians who make our work possible.

UNICEF Kid Power gives kids the power to save lives.

By getting active with the UNICEF Kid Power Band, kids go on missions to learn about new cultures and earn points.

Points unlock funding from partners, parents and fans, and funds are used by UNICEF to deliver lifesaving packets of therapeutic food to severely malnourished children around the world.

The Boston Kid Power team walked the length of the Boston Marathon more than 20,000 times – unlocking more than 56,000 packets of therapeutic food for children around the world.

Who: Event Chairs: Susan Littlefield, Tiffany Ortiz and Patty Ribakoff.

After Party Chair: Suruchi Ahuja
