The ASL Program put on its first George W. Veditz ASL Festival in 1997. From then it has grown to an event with over 600 people attending annually.

Now the festival is a three part event starting Friday afternoon with the Marie Jean Philip ASL Poetry, Storytelling and Deaf Art Competition Finals.

The performance segment of the Festival runs Friday night, in Blackman Auditorium, and workshops are held on Saturday to close out the event.
