Join together with other parents for a supportive and thought provoking discussion group by Mindee Meltzer, LCSW, EdM, parent educator. This drop-in parent discussion group is based on the Book Blessings of a Skinned Knee by Wendy Mogel, PhD.

Using Jewish teachings and principles, the group will focus on the specific challenges and celebrations of raising young children with special needs. The group will address key parenting issues such as determining realistic expectations for each child, advocating for our children without over protecting them, and developing self control and independence.

The group will meet on the 2nd Wednesday of every month (Nov. 11, Dec. 9, Jan. 13, Feb. 10, Mar. 10, Apr. 14, May 12, and June 9) from 7:30 – 9:00 pm at The Children’s Room at Jewish Family Service of Metrowest 475 Franklin Street, Framingham. The cost is $5 per class or $30 for the entire session. To register, contact 508-879-3300 or metrowest@jccgb.org.

This program sponsored by Jewish Family Network, a collaboration of the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston and Jewish Family Service of Metrowest with generous support from the Metrowest Planning Committee and CJP. Interfaith families, single parents, people with disabilities and GLBT families are welcome.
