The anticipation, excitement and discipline of preparing for a barbershop music contest comes to life at the 2014 Rising Star Quartet Competition scheduled for Saturday, August 2nd, 3:00 pm at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, Massachusetts.
This annual barbershop contest offers an avenue for girls aged 25 years and younger to present their talents by competing among thirteen Rising Star quartets from Arizona, California, Connecticut, Maryland, Kansas, Ohio, Texas, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.
The 2014 Rising Star Quartet Competition is hosted by the North Atlantic Region of Sweet Adelines and Sweet Adelines International—one of the world's most experienced vocal music education organizations.
