The Peabody Essex Museum hosts a Japanese Festival in Armory Park, across from main museum entrance. Join members of Odaiko New England for a Taiko drumming performance and Obon dancing with middle school stoudents from Ota, Salem's sister city in Tokyo, Japan.

(Rain Location: Museum Atrium).

Obon dancing is enjoyed throughout Japan in August when family members gather to honor their ancestors. Learn the moves to Tokyo Ondo and join the dance!
