The Middlesex Concert Band will present the fourth annual 'Chords for Kids' concert on Sunday, October 4th from 2:00P-3:30P at the Americal Civic Center, 467 Main St. Wakefield, MA. The band will perform both traditional and popular music geared toward exploring various rythms and styles.

The afternoon concert will include a free raffle for kids to win a chance to conduct the band for a children's parade. Following the performance, children will have an opportunity to take a closer look at the instruments in a musical 'petting zoo'.

The Middlesex Concert Band is a non-profit community music group based in Wakefield, serving the Greater Boston area for more than 50 years. Conducted by Mr. James O'Dell of Melrose, the band is made up of more than 60 talented men and women of all ages who volunteer their time and effort to rehearse and perform concerts year-round. '

From September to May, the band presents a series of pops and holiday concerts. During the summer months, the band can be heard playing traditional outdoor concerts in town parks and commons throughout the region.
