The annual Ducklings Day Parade begins at 12:00 noon, followed by a reading of 'Make Way for Ducklings' by actors from the Wheelock Family Theatre in the Public Garden.

Based on the book Make Way for Ducklings by Robert McCloskey, children and their families will retrace the steps of Mr. and Mrs. Mallard and their family of eight ducklings.

Led by the Harvard University Marching Band, children relive the adventures of Mr. and Mrs. Mallard dressed as one of their favorite characters from the book.

Children, and family members, are encouraged to come to the parade dressed as their favorite character from the book.

It’s a wonderful afternoon for all children and parents who attend. Join us this year and help make this our biggest Duckling Day parade yet! Prior to the parade, plenty of entertainment will be on hand, including a face painter, a balloon artist and a magician.

Mayor Wu will even greet families at the end of the parade, and actors from the Wheelock Family Theater will perform a dramatic reading of the book.

Tickets are $35 per family in advance, and $40 per family the day of the event. Advance tickets are available in advance at select retailers in Beacon Hill. Each family who registers will receive a special goodie bag filled with Duckling Day toys and treats.

Includes snacks, entertainment, and a toy for each child. For more information see website or call 617-266-5669.

For over 25 years, tens of thousands of children have relived the adventures of Mr. and Mrs. Mallard and their eight little ducklings as they learn about the city of Boston on field trips sponsored by Historic Neighborhoods. And the annual celebration continues to delight families from throughout New England.
