The Musicians of the Old Post Road, present 'Destination London,' a concert that highlights music by Baroque composers drawn to London to make their mark on this cultural mecca in the 18th century.

This program continues the group's 28th season which focuses on a topic that is as relevant today as it was in the 18th century: migration.

The migration of musicians and their music in the Old and New Worlds shaped the musical environments in which these musicians found themselves, changing the course of music history.

The season highlights a variety of musical cultures in performances of well-loved masterpieces and exciting “rediscoveries” of the Baroque and Classical periods.

'Destination London,' the third program of the season, surveys some of the musical gems penned in London by immigrant composers who came to take advantage of the city’s active concert life and ample patronage opportunities.

The program will include Giovanni Bononcini's heart-rending and passionate cantata Il Lamento d'Olimpia, and J.C. Pepusch’s utterly charming cantata Menalcas once the gayest swain, with soprano soloist Wakim.

She will also perform some of Handel's delightful but little-known English songs.

Instrumental offerings include Franceso Geminiani's Sonata in C Major for cello and continuo, and Handel's sublime Trio Sonata in B Minor.
