The annual Model Engineering Show at the Charles River Museum of Industry features the craftsmanship of the New England Model Engineering Society, whose members will be on hand to demonstrate and discuss their scale models of working steam engines.

What do trains, flutes, and clocks all have in common? At the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation they have all been miniturized

From tiny working tractors to a petite B-52 Bomber, children can experience monster machines on a minuscule scale. Over 100 interactive exhibit offer a one of a kind experience not to be forgotten.

The event also exhibits gasoline engines, aircraft engines, locomotives, clocks, model boats, and various contraptions of their own design.

Several exhibits feature hands-on experiments.  Some of the past exhibits have included a miniature working grist mill, a remote control tractor, sculptural puzzles, miniature working flutes, and more.

The Charles River Museum of Industry is located at 154 Moody Street in Waltham, beneath the smokestack of the Francis Cabot Lowell Mill complex. For information and directions, visit www.crmi.org or call 781-893-5410.
