Design Challenges
Take on the role of an engineer and design, construct, and test a prototype. Activities include creating and testing sailboats as well as building arcade claws to pick up toys from a tank.
Daily, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Discovery Center
At the Discovery Center's Experiment Station, children up to age eight hone their basic engineering skills while designing, testing, and improving creations they build themselves. Assist your preschooler as they create a spinning top and try out different shaped designs, build a glider and send it down our flight track, or design a bridge and test it under the weight of model turtles.
The Discovery Center has limited capacity; visit later in the day to avoid crowds.
Daily, 10:00 am – 15 minutes before Exhibit Halls close (7:30 pm on Friday)

Investigation Station
Museum staff and volunteers offer a variety of hands-on technology and engineering investigations.
10:30 am – 12:30 pm Monday – Friday; 1:30 – 3:30 pm Saturday and Sunday
