The hottest new digital imaging equipment, including the never-before-seen in New England Nikon J1 and V1 cameras, will be in the spotlight at the 35th Annual Hunt’s Demonstration & Sale on November 4-6, 2011.

The much-anticipated event at Hunt’s Photo & Video, 100 Main Street, Melrose and stores in Boston, Cambridge, Hadley, and Hanover, MA, Manchester, NH, Providence, RI, and So. Portland, ME, will feature the season’s lowest prices on the year’s most-desired digital still and video cameras, photo quality inkjet printers, lenses, flashes, software, lighting and accessories.

In addition, the Demo & Sale will offer three full days of skill-building seminars for photographers at all levels, an exclusive Preview Night for Professional Photographers on November 3 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, and live, on-site demonstrations of new technologies from Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, Epson, Olympus, Sony, and other leading manufacturers.

Topping the list of must-haves for 2011 are the sleek new Nikon 1 cameras which will be launched in New England at the Hunt’s Demo & Sale. These high-speed cameras have been designed “from the ground up,” according to Hunt’s General Manager Mike Mitchell, and will offer a whole new imaging experience.

“They’re for people who own point & shoot cameras who want the enhanced quality of a digital SLR, and they’re for people who have a digital SLR and are tired of carrying around camera bags and lenses and want to downsize,” explains Mitchell. Small enough to fit in the palm of a woman’s hand (including three lenses), the Nikon J1 and Nikon V1 provide high speed focusing, fast, continuous shooting, ease of use, compact lenses, and a unique Motion Snapshot mode which allows users to shoot video and still photos at the same time. When played back on the camera, the still images are preceded by a brief, slow-motion video (and music) that brings the subject to life. “I would say this is going to be great for social media and for sharing the moment with family and friends,” Mitchell advises. A free Introduction to the Nikon 1 will be held on Friday, November 4, from 2:15 – 3:00 pm in Melrose.

The 35th Annual Hunt’s Demonstration & Sale also marks the Grand Opening of the newest link in Hunt’s growing chain of retail outlets. Hunt’s Photo & Video opened its South Shore flagship in mid-October at 1207 Washington Street, Route 53, in Hanover, MA. Sale pricing will be in effect at the new Hanover store and all Hunt’s stores in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Maine throughout the 3-day Demo & Sale.
If you want to learn more about using your camera and equipment, sign up for a FREE educational seminar during the Hunt’s Demo & Sale. These professionally-led, 45-minute presentations will cover a wide range of subjects, including Basic Sports Photography, Travel Photography, Casual Portraiture, and more. Specialized classes on turning wildlife photographs into fine art prints, and DSLR videography will be led by renowned fine art photographer Judith Monteferrante and award-winning digital cinematographer/editor Sid Levin. For full course descriptions and online pre-registration, go to wbhunt.com/seminars.

Adding to the excitement will be the first-ever Hunt’s Bingo. Each Demo & Sale guest will receive a Bingo card to be stamped by every vendor they visit during the show. Upon completing a line or an entire card with stamps, the participant will be entered into a drawing for a camera, flash, binoculars, or other piece of equipment.

Hunt’s 4th Annual Law Enforcement Show will take place on Friday, November 4th, from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm, at Hunt’s Melrose store. Featuring on-site demonstrations by leading manufacturers, the show will highlight some of today’s most talked-about advances in interviewing, investigating, and booking such as:
