This breathtaking, Buddhist-inspired ceremony of remembrance honors loved ones who have died. Bring a picnic and friends and family of all ages. Decorate a paper lantern, light it with a candle, and set it afloat on Lake Hibiscus at sunset. A thousand points of light will float on the water as darkness falls, symbolizing the soul’s journey after death.
With live music by Master Tsuji’s Samurai Taiko Drummers, gospel by Ron Murphy and friends, dance by students from Showa Institute and Chu Ling Dance Academy.
The event takes place at historic Forest Hills Cemetery, a lush green landscape in the heart of Boston - truly a hidden gem, full of hundred-year-old trees, winding paths, and sculpture masterpieces both old and new. This event takes place at the edge of a lovely ornamental lake.
