The event at Foss Park will include free youth activities, performances, entertainment, games, and giveaways. Food from local restaurants and bottled water will also be available free. Event highlights: a K-9 unit demonstration; performances by the Sunsetters, Teen Empowerment and the Mary Flynn Murphy Dance Studio; and rides on a 7-person bicycle.
National Night Out is a unique crime prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and Target, Inc. to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
