This holiday season, Gore Place, the historic Governor Gore estate in Waltham, Massachusetts, the Great Hall of the mansion will be transformed into a 19th century tea room offering an authentic English tea of sweets and savories. Following the tea, guests will tour the mansion led by a guide in period costume telling stories of holiday traditions as you tour the mansion.

Traditionally, afternoon tea consists of delicate sandwiches, savory or sweet scones and fanciful pastry served 'family-style' on tiered serving trays. During this special tea, guests will be seated at tables of 4 to 6 people. Music and conversation with friends (old and new!) complete the experience.
The early 18oos estate of Massachusetts Governor Christopher Gore includes a small farm with sheep, goats and poultry. With its spiral staircase, marble floors and oval rooms, the elegantly furnished mansion has been called “the Monticello of the North” and architectural historians consider it to be the most significant Federal period mansion in New England.
