The Melrose Family Room (MFR) is a non-profit, cooperative organization established in 1988 as a gathering place for families with infants and young children through age six. The MFR is a wonderful place to play, talk, discuss parenting concerns, and get to know families from Melrose and surrounding communities.
There are toys, games, arts and crafts supplies, and snacks and drinks in the room. We organize many special events including holiday parties, outings for the entire family, and special programs for children.
The room is open for drop-in play time Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and Sunday from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Currently we have about 75 member families. Membership dues for a year (September to September) are $175. Members may also rent the room for private parties on the weekend.
You're invited to visit two or three times prior to joining. Make an appointment with the New Member Coordinator.
In March of each year members volunteer to fill various officer positions. Some of these positions include a free membership.
