Not As Bad As I Thought, Wed 18 Jul 2007
I was apprehensive about this place because I can remember going here as a child and thinking it was a little seedy. The games were expensive and the entry fee was a little steep, however the kids had a great time. It isn't all that new or clean but it was manageable. The food was really good for this type of establishment. The pizza was good and the chicken kabob salad I got was awesome. I'll probably go back however not all that often because the cost (entrance fee, tokens, food) does add up.
Very Expensive, Fri 13 Jul 2007
bonkers funhouse is very expensive. $15 per child just for rides and maze. tokens are equialent to a quarter. some games take 2 or 3 tokens. prizes are awful. not age appropriate for children age 3-12 years old. why do they put candles and lawn stakes as redemption items. they sell animal land toys which is a terrible knockoff of build a bear which also very expensive. food is lousy. watch what happens to the pizza when it's not hot anymore. cheese is not all mozzarella. wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. i'd rather spend the extra money and go to the new coco key on rt 1 in danvers.
Expensive, Tue 2 Jan 2007
This indoor play area is expensive. $10 will get you a bracelet that allows you use of 3 rides and the maze. Then you need to buy tokens for the games which is another $10 for 50 tokens. Bringing just two children will cost $40. Plus a large pizza brings the total to over $60 if you want sodas with your pizza. It is fun but I think Chuck E. Cheese has more for your dollar.
Ripped Off At Bonkers, Sun 27 Aug 2006
Today I dropped my 13 year old son and his 3 friends off at Bonkers while I ran some errands. When I returned, he informed me that the token machine had taken the $20.00 bill that I gave him and only given him $8.00 in tokens. By the time he got up the nerve to tell somebody about it, they didn't believe him because his 20 was too far back in the line of bills in the machine. Also, according to management, their machines never make mistakes, which I find quite amazing. There was absolutely nothing they could do for us to rectify the situation. Wow, what a great place! We'll never go back and neither should you, unless you like throwing even more money down the drain than you intended to in the first place.
Great Unlimited Rides, games Too Expensive, Sun 20 Aug 2006
i find Bonkers cleaner than others, but the staff always seems to get upset when asked to turn on the rides, yes it does seem like it may not be worth turning on the rides if there are just two children going on, but hey isn't that what they advertise, (unlimited rides) and isn't that what they are getting paid to do? But overall it is a fun place and I can't think of any place in my location that offers rides like the ones Bonkers has. My kids love it. Would be a lot nicer if the games were 1 token per game like Chuck E. Cheese.
Not Just For Planned Parties!, Fri 11 Aug 2006
We were invited for another birthday party and were disappointed about the food and the hurry up and get out in just an hour and a half. However my daughter (age 10) wanted to have her party there so instead of doing their party setup with a table and such we just went with all the kids at a random time, stayed as long as we wanted, they ate when and if they wanted and had a much better time. We ended up spending five hours there.
An Outing To Bonkers, Sun 2 Jul 2006
What parent doesn't feel a frisson of fear at the uttering of the word 'Bonkers?' The aptly-named indoor playground can save your sanity on a rainy Tuesday morning, or drive you bananas on a Sunday afternoon when up to twenty birthday parties might be raging at once. To get the most out of Bonkers, steer clear on weekends; you'll even get a large pizza half price Monday - Wednesday [except vacation weeks.] As for age range, many parents don't realize that their very little ones can enjoy the gated toddler area for free, a real boon in winter or broiling summer. Kids three and up (though it's a little scary til age four) will enjoy the enclosed giant maze and slide. But since Bonkers offers no way of making sure your child stays safely on premises, grab a table right at the entrance of the maze so you'll know if your child is still 'safely' inside.
Family Fun, Mon 3 Oct 2005
What a great place to take your kids. Clean beyond anywhere else I've been to in Massachusetts. Friendly staff, great food, reasonable prices and good parking. I love it and so does my 3 year old daughter. Highly recommend to anyone with kids if you're looking for a fun and safe place to hang out.
